By using Colonii.com and its related sites, application, tools and services, as well as registering for a Colonii District (account page), and Sector ID (Personal Referral Link), you expressly consent to our use, collection, disclosure, as well as retention of your personal information, as described in this Privacy Policy and in our Colonii User Agreement. Colonii may amend this Privacy Policy at any time, by posting the amended terms on this site, and all amended terms automatically take effect 30 days after they are initially posted on the site. Colonii will notify you through the Colonii Communication Center (CCC) and/or via email of any material changes to this Privacy Policy. Within this entire Colonii Privacy Policy, Colonii uses the term "personal information", to describe information that can be associated with a specific person and could be used to identify that person. Colonii doesn’t consider personal information to include information that has been made anonymous and / or aggregated so that it can no longer be used, whether in combination with other information or otherwise, to identify a specific person.CCC.

Colonii offers the ability for you to connect with our website, and / or use our applications, services, and tools using a mobile device, either through a mobile optimized website or mobile application. Colonii collects and stores any information you may enter on our sites or you provide to us in context of using our sites, applications and services or tools. This may include, but is not limited to: Information you provide Colonii when registering for an account, including email address, phone number, mobile telephone number, physical contact information, and sometimes financial information, such as credit card or bank account numbers. Also, additional information you may provide to us via social media sites or services or transactional information based on your activities on the sites including buying, selling, items and content you generate or that relates to your Colonii account. Shipping, billing as well as other information you provide to purchase or ship an item, and information provided in the context of community discussions, chats, correspondence through our sites, dispute resolution, or correspondence sent to us. Also, additional personal information we ask you to submit to authenticate yourself, or if Colonii believes you are violating site policies. When you download or access one of our mobile optimized sites or use our Mobile Applications, Colonii may receive information about your location as well as your mobile device, including a unique identifier for your device. Colonii may use this information to provide you with location based services, such as advertising, search results, and other personalized content. Colonii may receive or collect supplemental information about you from third parties sources and add it to our account information. Colonii offers services that allow you to share information with third party social media websites such as Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, and others. You may choose to provide us with access to certain personal information stored by such third party websites. Also, Colonii offers sign-on services that allow you to use third party login credentials to access the Colonii website or related sites. The personal information we have access to varies by website and is controlled by your privacy settings on that website and your consent to each website having such information. By associating an account managed by a third party with your Colonii account as well as authorizing Colonii to have access to this information, you are agreeing that Colonii may use, collect, and store information from these websites in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Use of Personal Information

When Colonii contacts you, either via email or telephone, to resolve disputes, collect fees, and troubleshoot problems with your account or our sites, services and applications or tools, or for other purposes authorized by law, contact you via email or telephone to inform you about our services, and compare information for accuracy, and verify it with third parties, as well as contact you at any telephone number using auto-dialed or pre-recorded message calls or text (SMS) messages as authorized for the purposes described in this Colonii Privacy Policy. Lastly, to provide you other services requested by you as described when we collect the information. Colonii’s primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with access to our sites and/or use of our services, applications and tools, provide you with requested customer service, as well as relevant information about your account, and Colonii services, and to provide you with a safe, efficient, and customized experience. You are agreeing that we may use your personal information to: provide you access to our sites and the services and customer support you request. To provide customer support you are requesting for financial products offered by members of our corporate family and their financial institution partners. Also to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, security breaches, potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our Colonii User Agreement. customize, measure and improve our services, content and advertising.

Your Communication Preferences

As as a Colonii registered user, you can control how or when you want to receive notifications from Colonii.com about your buying and selling activities. This is located in the Communication Preference section under your District (Account Page). You can also control your member-to-member communication preferences here, and choose which newsletters and promotions you want to receive, and the methods by which Colonii may contact you.

Marketing and Third Parties

Colonii may combine your information with information we collect from other companies to use it to improve, personalize our services, our content and advertising. If you do not wish to receive marketing communications from Colonii, you can indicate your communications preferences located in your District, or within the direct communication from us. If do not wish to participate in our ad-customization programs, you can opt-out by following the directions provided within the applicable advertisement.
Colonii does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Disclosure of Your Information by Colonii

Colonii may disclose personal information to respond to legal requirements, respond to claims that a listing or other content violates the rights of others, enforce our policies, or protect anyone's rights, property, or safety. Such information will be disclosed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws and regulations. As stated above, we do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We may also share your personal information to help detect and / or prevent potentially illegal acts, violations of our policies, fraud and/or data security breaches, and to guide decisions about their products, sites, applications and services, tools, and communications. This may include sharing it with service providers under contract who help with our business operations, such as, bill collection, fraud investigations, affiliate as well as rewards programs, and site operations. Also other Colonii Pioneers or Colonists, whether located in your country of residence or outside of it, as authorized by you, or your use of our sites, services, applications or tools (Example: if you are involved in a transaction with another user, and the other user may view your email address and request and obtain your contact information and postal address to help potentially complete the transaction.) Other third parties to whom you explicitly ask us to send your information. Credit bureaus with which we may report information about your account, including information on late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report. Governmental agencies or law enforcement, or authorized third-parties, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you, or any other Colonii Pioneer or Colonist to legal liability. In such events, we will only disclose information relevant and necessary to the investigation or inquiry, such as name, city, state, ZIP code, email address, telephone number, User ID history, IP address, fraud complaints, bidding and listing history, and anything else we may deem relevant to the investigation. Being acquired by another business entity and plan to merge with them, or other business entities.

Information You Choose To Share On Colonii

Your Colonii Sector ID (Personal Referral Link) is displayed throughout Colonii and is available to the public, as well as is connected to all of your Colonii activity. Other Colonists and Pioneers, can see your Achievements (purchased items), items for sale, Outposts, Feedback, ratings and associated comments. If you associate your name with your Colonii Sector ID, the Pioneers or Colonists to whom you have revealed your name will be able to personally identify your Colonii activities. If you access our websites from a computer in an internet café or shared computer, certain information about you, such as your Colonii Sector ID, activity, or reminders from Colonii, may also be visible to other individuals who use the computer after you. Notices sent to other community members about suspicious activity and policy violations on our sites refer to Colonii Sector ID and specific items.

How You Use Information from Colonii

Colonii enables you to share personal and financial information to complete transactions, and collect payments. In all cases, you must give other users a chance to remove themselves from your database and a chance to review what information you have collected about them. We encourage you to disclose your privacy practices and respect the privacy of other users and we cannot guarantee the privacy or security of your information and therefore we encourage you to evaluate the privacy and security policies of your trading partner before entering into a transaction. You agree to use user information only for Colonii transaction-related purposes that are not unsolicited commercial messages, also, using services offered through Colonii.com and other purposes that a user expressly chooses.

Cookies

On Colonii when you access our website, or use our applications and/or services and tools, Colonii may place small data files on your computer or other device. Colonii uses these data files, commonly known as "Cookies", to measure promotional effectiveness, to help us identify you as a user, customize our services, content and advertising, and to promote trust as well as safety. Also, You may encounter Cookies from third parties, known as service providers, that we have allowed on our site that assist us with various aspects of our web site operations and services and you also may encounter Cookies from third parties on certain pages of the websites that we do not control and have not authorized (such as on a Pioneer‘s Outpost (Store).

No Spam and Spyware

Colonii, as well as our Pioneers and Colonists, WILL NOT tolerate spam. No Colonist (Buyer) or Pioneer (Seller) are licensed to add other Colonists or Pioneers to any mailing list (physical mail or email) without each Colonist’s or Pioneer’s express consent. Please set your preferences for Colonii Communications, so Colonii can communicate to you only as you prefer. Please immediately report Colonii-related spam or spoof emails to Colonii by forwarding the email to spam@colonii.com. You may not use Colonii’s communication tools to send spam or otherwise send content that would violate our User Agreement. Colonii automatically scans and may manually filter messages to check for spam, phishing attacks, viruses, and other malicious activity or illegal or prohibited content, but Colonii does not permanently store messages sent through these tools. If you send an email to an email address that is not registered in our Sector ID and by Sector Currency Program, Colonii does not permanently store that email, nor use that email address for any marketing purposes, or rent or sell these email addresses.

Accessing Your Sector ID and Personal Information

Your password on Colonii is the key to your account. We recommend that you use unique numbers, letters and special characters. Please do not disclose your Colonii password to anyone. When you share your password or your personal information with others, you are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account. If you lose control of your password, you could lose substantial control over your personal information and could be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf. If your password has been compromised, you should immediately contact Colonii and change your password. You can sign in and go to your District page and review or change most of your personal information. Colonii will not manually modify your personal information. You are responsible to update your personal information if it changes or is inaccurate. If you make a public posting, you may not be able to change or remove it. If you request it, we close your account, as well as remove your personal information from view as soon as possible, based on your account activity and in accordance with applicable law. Colonii does retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with law, prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Colonii User Agreement, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.

How We Protect and Store Your Sector ID and Personal Information

Colonii stores and processes your personal information on our computers in the US where our facilities are located. Colonii protects your information using administrative and technical security measures to reduce the risks of loss, unauthorized access, disclosure misuse, and alteration. Colonii takes steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate and up to date, and provides you with the opportunity to update your information through your District settings. We use safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, information access authorization controls and physical access controls to our data centers. Colonii retains information as long as it is necessary and relevant for our operations and we retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with the law, troubleshoot problems, collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, assist with any investigation, enforce our Colonii User Agreement and take other actions permitted by law.

Third Parties Outside of Colonii.com

Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. If you choose to disclose your information to others such as Pioneers (Sellers) or Colonists (buyers) on our website or other sites throughout the internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you provide to them. Colonii.com does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable.
